Whatever It Takes
The images coming out of south Texas and Houston the past few days are hard to watch. At Whataburger, we’re determined to do as much as possible to help, and we’re staying strong for our customers and Family Members already affected in the wake of Harvey.
Here’s an update on the behind-the-scenes activity taking place:
Our People on the Ground
Our supply teams are working around the clock to deliver fresh, quality ingredients to restaurants and we’re opening restaurants in Corpus Christi as soon as we can do so safely.
All our Houston restaurants remain closed. Right now we’re focused on securing people and buildings, and we will plan for reopening as soon as it’s safe to do so. Keep checking our Store Locator for updates on the latest openings and closures.
In Louisiana, we are preparing to close restaurants where safety is an issue. Along with our Louisiana Family Members and customers, we’re bracing for the worst as the storm approaches. We’ll continue to provide updates on efforts as we make more decisions. Again, keep checking our Store Locator for updates on the latest openings and closures.
Limited Menus and Placing a Group Order
Many of our restaurants in affected areas are operating with limited services and staff, but we’re doing our best to serve hot, fresh food. During this time we will offer only the following menu items in selected units:
- Burgers, fries and drinks are available all day
- Taquitos and BOBs are available from 11pm – 11am
We thank you for understanding and look forward to customizing your orders just the way you like it very soon!
Helping Family Members
We’re planning to do as much as we can to help our own family. Family Members in need of support from the Whataburger Family Foundation can call 1-800-6BURGER (1-800-628-7437).
Operating since 2001, the Whataburger Family Foundation pools together donations from the company, employees, franchisees and suppliers. The funds are then used for scholarships and to assist employees and their families in need.
In the Community
Lots of folks are asking what we’re doing to help. We’ve donated water and snacks for American Red Cross shelters and their volunteers, but we know they need so much more. We’re focused on making sure our Family Members are safe and sound, but stay tuned for an announcement soon.
