MSC Teams Can Stand the Heat
Ice machines. Coffee makers. Grills. Refrigerators. These are just a few equipment pieces that Whataburger MSC techs keep in tip top shape for our restaurants.
And when they come to The Heat Is On event at WhataGames, they’re ready to show off just how well they do it.
“Today, we did what we do every day ... we showed the judges that we have the skills to take home the gold,” says Andy Collier, lead tech for Region 9000.
Region 9000 was the first team to compete Friday morning, beginning their round at 7:30 a.m. How’d they do? “Great,” Collier says. “This is a great team.”
Friday was the last day for The Heat Is On, a timed event in which each team of techs has to identify and solve problems in a restaurant.
Some issues they know about. Others are hidden in plain sight.
And then there are the surprises: like an unexpected driving challenge to evaluate safety.
The teams take it all – even the unexpected – in stride. After all, they’ve got their eyes on the prize.
“We’re ready to take home the gold and have the bragging rights for the next two years,” Louie Ribera, the lead tech for Region 7000. “That’s what this is really about.”
