The Back Story

Whataburger has always prided ourselves on exceptional customer service, and one day we asked ourselves why our customers should have to choose between breakfast and burgers. Breakfast and burgers are so wonderful, we think they should go together. You can have a burger. And it can be breakfast. Or you can have breakfast, and it can be a burger. See what we did there? Cue the Breakfast Burger. 

The Build

We don’t need to tell you this burger is fire, y’all, but we’ll tell you anyway. The burger features a 100% beef patty, Whataburger’s one-of-a-kind Creamy Pepper Sauce, two slices of savory bacon, a freshly-cracked egg, three crispy hash browns, and American cheese, all conveniently sandwiched in a 4” bun. The Creamy Pepper Sauce is also available as a dipping sauce. 

“Anytime we talk about the Breakfast Burger, people get really, really excited,” said Whataburger Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Rich Scheffler. “This is a hearty creation, and some of our customers said they would drive out of their way to get this. We’re excited to be able to offer a unique item for our fans to enjoy whether they’re fueling up for their day or enjoying a late-night meal.”

As part of the Breakfast Burger’s launch, Whataburger will also partner with Texas Humor, the popular social media account and online shop to host a live trivia and tasting event at the San Marcos restaurant located at 1004 N. State Highway 123. The event will take place Sept. 30 from 9:30pm-11:30 p.m. and is open to the public. In addition to being among the first to try this unique burger, guests will also receive their own Whataburger and Texas Humor swag. Fans who don’t live in San Marcos can watch the live event on Whataburger’s Facebook page to take part in the action.

The Fine Print

The Breakfast Burger is so legendary it's only available for a limited time, and only available during breakfast hours from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. Prices vary by market. Trust us, it's worth setting your alarm for this one.
