Whataburger Introduces New Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuit as part of Breakfast Lineup for a Limited Time
April 1, 2014 -- Starting today, customers can try a new spin on an old favorite with Whataburger’s new Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuit, available for a limited time. The new offering is a buttermilk biscuit with shredded cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños baked right inside, resulting in a rich, cheesy taste with the flavor of a jalapeño, but without the heat.
Customers can enjoy the Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuit in a number of ways: on a Biscuit Sandwich with sausage or bacon, egg, & cheese; with Biscuits & Gravy; as part of a Breakfast Platter Meal with sausage or bacon, egg and hash browns; or a la carte.
“Our new Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuit is a savory twist on a breakfast classic,” said Whataburger Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Rich Scheffler. “Our customers appreciate the variety Whataburger offers, especially for breakfast, and we think they’ll really enjoy this combination of flavorful ingredients baked to perfection.”
Whataburger serves breakfast every day from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.
Whataburger has focused on its fresh, made-to-order burgers and friendly customer service since 1950 when Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger as a small roadside burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dobson gave his restaurant a name he hoped to hear customers say every time they took a bite of his made-to-order burgers: “What a burger!” Within the first week, people lined up around the block for his 25 cent, 100 percent beef burgers served on five-inch buns. Today, the company is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with more than 820 locations in 10 states with sales of more than $2 billion annually. Visit www.whataburger.com for more information.
