Q&A WITH TWO FAN FAVORITES

What have you been doing since we last saw you on the Whataburger All-Time Favorites Menu?

Well, I was enjoying retirement. Spending quality time with my kid, Mushroom Swiss Jr.

Did you and Mushroom Swiss Jr. go on any adventures together?

We backpacked around Europe, started in France. But that didn’t last long. A hostel is no place for a delicious burger.

We ended up in Switzerland, go figure. Took a train tour, hiked in the Alps. When we were looking at the Matterhorn, I looked over, and Junior was lookin’ a little sad. So I said, what’s the matter-horn?

Turns out, Junior was homesick. So when we got the call a few days later to come back as a Whataburger Limited Time Offer, it was an easy choice. We headed back to South Texas to work out a deal.

Did the contract talks go smoothly?

Let’s just say, the offer was so good there wasn’t mushroom for negotiation.

7,000 people signed a petition to bring you back. How does it feel to have so many fans begging for your return?

What, you want me to give a speech? You like me, you like me!

But seriously, as nice as it’s been to relax and spend time with Junior, it feels amazing that so many people were champing at the bit to be chomping on us a bit. Know what I mean?

Whataburger’s been good to us, so we’re happy to help them and their fans celebrate 75 years.

What’s next for you and Mushroom Swiss Jr.?

We’re leaving the menu again on June 2, and we've got plenty more Mushroom Swiss family adventures planned. First up: a tropical summer vacation at this new fungi-only resort, the Spore Seasons.
