June 29, 2020 -- Whataburger’s new Pico de Gallo Burger is a fresh take on what a burger can be. Crisp, light Pico de Gallo, combined with a new Creamy Cilantro Lime Sauce, creates a unique pop of bright flavors with the perfect kick.

 

The Build

The Pico de Gallo Burger is just as good as it looks. It starts with two perfectly cooked all-beef patties on a toasted five-inch bun, topped with three new ingredients: two slices of pepper jack cheese, fresh Pico de Gallo and a new Creamy Cilantro Lime Sauce. 

“The ingredients in Pico de Gallo are simple – fresh onions, tomatoes, cilantro and peppers – but, together, they create a cool flavor profile that we know our customers will love,” said Whataburger Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Rich Scheffler. “The texture and color of the Pico elevates the burger, and the pepper jack cheese adds just a hint of heat. Pro tip: pico-loving fans can try Whataburger’s new Pico de Gallo on their other favorite menu items, from salads to grilled chicken sandwiches to taquitos. The Creamy Cilantro Lime Sauce is also available on the side and makes a delicious dipping sauce for Whatachick’n Bites or Strips.
