More Than $585,000 Raised to Support Military-Connected Students

When Whataburger customers, Family Members and franchise partners come together, their collective impact can reach far beyond the restaurant.

This April, Whataburger launched its 2026 Month of the Military Child systemwide fundraiser to support military-connected students as they pursue higher education and leadership opportunities. Across the Whataburger footprint, communities rallied behind the cause, turning everyday visits to Whataburger into an opportunity to give back.

Together, the Whataburger family raised more than $585,000 for Gratitude Initiative, helping support students and families connected to the military community.

The campaign came to a close with a special check presentation celebrating the generosity of Whataburger customers, Family Members and franchise partners. Whataburger leaders and Gratitude Initiative executives gathered to recognize the collective effort and share remarks about the difference this support can make for military-connected students.

The celebration also shined a spotlight on the San Antonio community, where Whataburger restaurants collectively raised more than $30,000 during the campaign.

From individual customer donations to the efforts of local restaurant teams, every contribution played a part in reaching the campaign's goal. Together, Whataburger communities demonstrated what can happen when people come together to make a meaningful difference for students and families who serve our country.

The $585,000 raised is more than a campaign total. It represents a community coming together to help open doors for the next generation of military-connected leaders.
