On a summer morning in San Antonio, Whataburger Family Members gathered at the Texas Diaper Bank warehouse to help ensure individuals and families across South and Central Texas have access to essential hygiene products.

Working alongside Texas Diaper Bank staff, volunteers sorted, repackaged and prepared supplies for distribution through the organization’s network of community partners. The work supported families facing a common but often overlooked challenge: affording basic hygiene products while managing other household expenses.

Throughout the shift, volunteers packaged more than 21,000 menstrual hygiene products into over 1,100 care packs. These supplies will reach individuals across 18 counties, helping address period poverty and ensuring more people have access to products essential to their health and daily lives.

Whataburger’s support extended beyond the volunteer shift. The company donated more than $740 worth of diapers, adult incontinence products and period supplies, contributing over 2,100 essential items. With an additional $2,000 monetary donation to help the Texas Diaper Bank continue its work serving individuals and families throughout the region.

For the Texas Diaper Bank, community partnerships help expand access to products many people take for granted. For the volunteers, the experience offered a hands-on opportunity to support that mission and help meet a basic need in their community.

By the end of the day, care packs were ready for distribution, bringing essential supplies one step closer to the people who need them. The effort reflects how service, whether through volunteering, donating supplies or supporting local organizations, can help strengthen communities and make a meaningful difference in the lives of neighbors.
