Whataburger and James Avery are putting on the charm, Texas-style

October 9, 2017 -- Make room on your favorite charm bracelet for this season’s must-have keepsake! Whataburger and James Avery are releasing a new one-of-a-kind sterling silver charm Oct. 9, just in time for holiday shopping.

“When we were thinking of new offerings, we instantly got excited about connecting two Texas brands that people grow up knowing and loving – Whataburger and James Avery,” said Mike Sobel, Whataburger Vice President of Retail. “If you love Texas and Whataburger, you’re going to love this charm.”

“We’re excited to work with another iconic Texas brand,” said John McCullough, COO of James Avery Artisan Jewelry. “We admire what Whataburger means to Texans, but most importantly, we hope both our customers will be excited about this partnership.”

The authentic sterling silver James Avery Charm engraved with the Whataburger logo measures 5/8” long. It features the Whataburger “flying W” at its heart and is exclusively available at shop.whataburger.com. Customers can purchase the charm individually or they can build the perfect ready-to-wear piece with James Avery’s Hook-On Bracelet or Changeable Charm Holder Necklace.

The charm represents a partnership between two legendary Texas brands that both got their start in the 1950s. In the summer of 1950, one man with a dream opened up a small burger stand in Corpus Christi that would eventually turn into the orange-and-white striped restaurants we know and love. A few summers later in 1954, James Avery started his jewelry business in a two-car garage with about $250 in capital. Now, the beloved brands are joining forces to share a little piece of history with fans.

ABOUT WHATABURGER: Whataburger has focused on its fresh, made-to-order burgers and friendly customer service since 1950 when Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger as a small roadside burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dobson gave his restaurant a name he hoped to hear customers say every time they took a bite of his made-to-order burgers: “What a burger!” Within the first week, people lined up around the block for his 25 cent, 100 percent beef burgers served on five-inch buns. Today, the company is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with more than 810 locations in 10 states with sales of more than $2 billion annually. Visit www.whataburger.com for more information.
