Dream Big: The Feeding Student Success Scholarship!
At Whataburger, we’re not just building burgers—we’re helping build brighter futures.
As part of our commitment to the communities we call home, Whataburger is proud to invest $600,000 in scholarships each academic year through our Feeding Student Success program. Available to eligible students across our 17-state footprint, the program supports both our Guests and Family Members (employees) as they pursue their educational goals.
Now partnering with Dr Pepper for another year, Whataburger contributes $500,000 in scholarship funding, with an additional $100,000 provided by Dr Pepper.
Each year, 120 students receive a $5,000 scholarship to help cover the cost of tuition, books, housing, and other educational expenses. Scholarships are available to students attending any college, university, or not-for-profit vocational school.
Applications for the 2027-2028 scholarships open on January 1, 2027 at 8:00 AM CST, and will close on February 15, 2027 at 5:00 PM CST.
Since launching in 2021, the Whataburger Feeding Student Success Scholarship has awarded more than $3.6 million in educational support, helping students take meaningful steps toward a brighter future.

Since its launch, the Whataburger Feeding Student Success program has provided more than $6.75 million in support through scholarships, student resource rooms, and community partnerships. It’s all part of our mission to address education and food insecurity, one student at a time.
Students can apply for the Whataburger Feeding Student Success Scholarship from January 1, 2027, through Feb. 15, 2028.
