Whataburger Original-Recipe Products Now Available at More Than 5,000 Grocery Stores in 25 States

Whataburger has been putting smiles on faces with bold flavors and fresh, made-to-order goodness for more than 70 years.

Now, 15 of the original-recipe products that make Whataburger unique are available in grocery stores across Whataburger’s 14-state restaurant footprint and beyond.

What started in 2013 with Whataburger Fancy Ketchup, Spicy Ketchup and Original Mustard in H-E-B locations in Texas, has grown through expanded distribution agreements with 21 grocery brands, bringing Whataburger sauces to a total of more than 5,000 stores across the United States. Partnerships include Albertsons, Albertsons Market, Amigos, Brookshire’s Food & Pharmacy, Brookshire Brothers, Central Market, Fry's Food and Drug, H-E-B, H-E-B México, Hy-vee, Kroger, Market Street, Mi Tienda, Randalls, Smith's Food and Drug, Tom Thumb, United Supermarkets, Walmart, Walmart Mexico, WinCo Foods and Winn-Dixie.

From Whataburger’s grocery product debut in 2013 through May 2022, revenue increased more than 500 percent. The brand expects to see continued stable growth as its grocery product distribution expands with its restaurant footprint.

“Our original recipes have been taste tested to perfection over generations in our restaurants,” said Rich Scheffler, Whataburger Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “As we enter new markets like Atlanta, Kansas City, Nashville, Memphis and Colorado Springs, we’re expanding our fan base through both our more than 890 restaurants and 5,000-plus grocery stores.”

Whataburger Ketchups are the fastest-growing ketchup brand in the nation according to industry sources. Fancy and Spicy Ketchups (20 oz and 40 oz) are the most widely available of Whataburger’s original-recipe retail products. Whataburger’s retail lineup also includes Original Mustard, Real Mayonnaise, One-of-a-Kind Creamy Pepper Sauce, Creamy Buttermilk Ranch, Spicy Jalapeño Ranch, Classic Honey Mustard, Honey BBQ Sauce, Buffalo Sauce, Honey Butter Sauce, Picante Sauce, Salsa Verde, Original Pork Sausage and Original Pancake Mix.
