At Whataburger, serving goes beyond the counter. This spring, Whataburger Family Members traded their usual routine for garden gloves and wheelbarrows at the San Antonio Botanical Garden, a 39-acre living museum dedicated to conservation, education, and community connection. Teams worked alongside garden staff to support ongoing horticulture and grounds maintenance across several areas of the property.

Efforts ranged from spreading mulch in the Mays Display Garden and clearing overgrown walkways, to restoring plantings in the Conservatory Courtyard and removing debris throughout the Conservatory Ramp. Volunteers also helped plant approximately 500 wildflowers to support pollinators and contributed to broader cleanup and restoration work in the Sensory and Old-Fashioned Gardens.

The project was one part of the garden’s larger, ongoing work to maintain and preserve accessible green space in the heart of San Antonio. Learn more at San Antonio Botanical Garden.
