Then & Now

From dining rooms to uniforms, see how we've changed since 1950

Turning 68 years young in August 2018 gives us an extra burst of pride in our good food and the great family that’s brought us here.

Family Album

Hair stood high, and hats looked kinda goofy in 1970, but pride was in style just as it is today for our Family Members.

Counter intelligence

My, what big registers we had in the 1970s! My, what a big menu we have today!

Proud to Serve

We always feel happy about cooking up good food.

Small space, big taste

When it all began, a Whataburger was 35 cents, and a shake was just 15 cents. And you had to stand in line outside to place your order.

Better with age

Hey, our burgers had good taste in the 1970s even if the dining rooms didn’t! We’ve lightened up considerably since the days of wood-paneled walls and ashtrays on the tables.

Curb service

We’re digging the vintage rides at the old A-frame as much as we dig the convenience of the drive-thru today.

Times of changing signs

Then and now, the "Flying W" is a beacon of good taste.

Do the math

Two stories, 24/7. It adds up to deliciousness day and night.

Made to order

Photography styles have changed, but the classic Whataburger is still the classic.

We’re proud of the legacy of hard work that has been part of the Whataburger brand since the beginning. Pick up a piece of our history for your very own in our retail shop.
